Position Requirements / Exigences du poste

Requirements

  • University degree in one of the Social Sciences combined with three years of direct service experience in human services, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Registration as a regulated health professional appropriate to discipline
  • Minimum one year of supervision or leadership experience in a clinical or community setting
  • Knowledge and understanding of the mental health and addictions sector
  • Familiarity with Recovery Philosophy and awareness of needs of diverse communities is an asset
  • Knowledge of the social services and/or health field, including local resources

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Well organized and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to organize time and prioritize tasks to achieve objectives, demonstrating organization, planning & coordination skills
  • Ability to deal tactfully with individuals of diverse cultural and social backgrounds
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in database software for client management
  • Proficiency in virtual platforms, such as MS Teams
  • Demonstrates initiative when appropriate and is willing to learn new skills
  • Engage in reasonable self-care strategies that incorporate balancing work/life responsibilities
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills

Program

  • Oversee the day-to-day programming activities of the Community Support Services (Intensive Case Management, Resource Centers)
  • Act as the program contact person with other agencies in the community
  • Responsible for adherence to the program budgets and making budget recommendations to the Clinical Program Manager
  • Participate in client case conferences, when required
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure client records are properly maintained in the database
  • Coordinate and participate in team/staff meetings
  • Participate in internal/external committees as required

Community Relations and Advocacy

  • Positively represent the agency in inter-agency initiatives through committees and informal networking with community partners

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Review and approve direct reports’ schedules, time-off requests, timesheets and expenses
  • Ensure proper program coverage
  • Provide timely and informative reports as directed and requested by the Clinical Program Manager
  • Enter and collect data relevant to program evaluation

Supervision of Direct Reports

  • Supervise and evaluate program staff of the Community Support Services
  • As a resource, facilitate change management and consults for increased organizational effectiveness
  • In conjunction with Human Resources, make recommendations and reports to the Clinical Program Manager relative to matters of hiring, non-disciplinary corrective actions and disciplinary actions with direct reports
